I'll Mix It For You and Vice Versa

Today's Way Khool Site is: Meemix

So I was given an invite from a contact on Facebook to Meemix, and I'm having fun with Meemix as I did with Pandora. Meemix is still in Beta, and I'm not sure if you need an invite or can just register at this point. If you want an invite, let me know.

I'm still discovering all the options and finding my way around.

What's different is that this online music station has added the social networking function. If you sign up, friend me! I could use some friends here!

Singing With The Stars

Today's Way Khool Site is: Voki

Are you in love with the music of Alicia Keys? Or the Goddess Alicia Keys herself? If so, now you can sing along to her music using the technology of Voki, YOUR voice, and the music of Keys! This is WAAAAY KHOOL!

However, since I love to sing but belong to the Singing Impaired, you won't find me participating in this khool technology. Sigh! I'll just stick singing to myself.

Jib Jab Is Everywhere Like Santa

Today's Way Khool Site is: Jib Jab

If you're like me by now you've received lots of e-greetings with Dancing Elves with friends heads (and sometimes their pets heads) placed in them as they dance, right? This is the work of Jib Jab!

Jib Jab has so many offerings. Where does one begin.

They offer, "Greetings That Don't Suck". These 'sendables' are offered in several formats and have an edge! I particularly enjoyed the one titled "St. Nick"! Sad-- the message rings oh so true! Check it out!

My Favorite Word FREE Rhymes With Charity

Today's Way Khool Site is: Free Rice

As everyone knows who reads this blog a lot, I love the word FREE for so many reasons. And now I've discovered a way to play a vocabulary game and give FREE rice to others (a nonprofit which distributes food) at the same time! Wh00t! I love to see those grains of rice build up in the bowl.

Here's a brief explanation taken from the FAQ page of Free Rice:
"How does the FreeRice vocabulary program work?

FreeRice has a custom database containing thousands of words at varying degrees of difficulty. There are words appropriate for people just learning English and words that will challenge the most scholarly professors. In between are thousands of words for students, business people, homemakers, doctors, truck drivers, retired people… everyone!

"FreeRice automatically adjusts to your level of vocabulary. It starts by giving you words at different levels of difficulty and then, based on how you do, assigns you an approximate starting level. You then determine a more exact level for yourself as you play. When you get a word wrong, you go to an easier level. When you get three words in a row right, you go to a harder level. This one-to-three ratio is best for keeping you at the “outer fringe” of your vocabulary, where learning can take place.

There are 50 levels in all, but it is rare for people to get above level 48."

And as you grow smarter and hungry people eat, all is FREE because advertising supports this site!

Be Santa's Friend This Season

Today's Way Khool Site is: Laptop Giving

Laptop Giving is an offshoot of the nonprofit organization One Laptop Per Child, and now through December 31, they have a magnificent offer for you. If you donate the XO laptop to a child through their organization, they will then give you one in return for YOUR child.

Here's what they write:

"Since November 12th, OLPC has been offering a limited-time Give One Get One program in the United States and Canada. During Give One Get One, you can donate the revolutionary XO laptop to a child in a developing nation, and also receive one for the child in your life in recognition of your contribution. Thanks to a growing interest in the program, we are extending Give One Get One until the end of the year. You also may donate laptops via our Simply Give and Give Many options. Though the increasing public interest in OLPC, we hope to give many more children the opportunity to grow, explore, learn and express themselves."

This offer is such a win-win! And Santa will surely make note that you've been very good this year!
